Less traffic accidents

Cheonan City held the Cheonan City Traffic Safety Policy Deliberation Committee in the city hall’s middle conference room on the afternoon of the 25th.

The council was prepared to deliberate and resolve the 4th Basic Traffic Safety Plan of Cheonan City and the 2022 Cheonan City Traffic Safety Implementation Plan through opinions and discussions by the traffic safety policy review committee members.

The 4th Basic Traffic Safety Plan is a long-term plan for traffic safety for five years from 22 to 26. It presented a vision of “Cheonan, a transportation city where citizens are happy due to reduced traffic accidents,” and established four implementation strategies and detailed implementation tasks under the goal of reducing the total number of traffic accident deaths by 45%.

This year’s traffic safety implementation plan suggested establishing a safe transportation environment, establishing an accident-free transportation environment, promoting safety and convenience for pedestrians and the vulnerable, and establishing an advanced transportation culture.

Based on the plan, the city plans to promote projects to reduce traffic accidents and traffic accident deaths, such as establishing intelligent transportation systems and smart parking information systems, creating a safe school environment for children, introducing elderly traffic accidents, introducing rental taxis for the disabled.

Mayor Park Sang-don said, “As cars continue to increase, it is necessary to invest in traffic safety facilities and promote citizens’ advanced transportation culture for a safe transportation life. Based on the basic traffic safety plan, we will do our best to reduce accidents and become a safe transportation city.”
